James honed his nautical skills racing sailboats on the waters of the great lakes, but now he finds the salty seas of the Caribbean better suiting his taste. A carpenter by trade, James is also a storyteller, author, and traveler, yet truth be known, flyfishing is his chase. Often presumed to be shy or aloof, James listens more that he speaks, and it is this refreshing trait that has allowed for deeper insights into many different worlds on his many adventures. Maintaining a dynamic lifestyle including healthy eating, vigorous exercise, and spirited sex, his next piece to be put to pen and paper is always right around the corner. Preferring solo travel off the beaten path, James finds peace for his active imagination in the sanctums of nature. But that does not mean he totally avoids the bussel of city life, for it is there he has the ability to engage people of all cultures and various mores. Many of his stories come from personal experiences, but not all. His writings are peppered with the chapters in the life of others and none more profound than those of his friend and coauthor, Aisling. The two authors met by chance on a beach in Cuba. James went there to fish and experience some fine rum and cigars, all the while immersing himself in a secretive country, off limits for so long. Aisling was there to visit friends and family, searching to find some much-needed inspiration for the book she was beginning to write. Under a tiki hut on a warm December day, their pathes crossed for the first time. The gap in their ages first posed as a barrier, but polite conversation led to a revelation of sorts. Both were struggling for traction in what they each perceived were stories gone stale. James speaks a little Spanish but fortunately, Aisling is fluid in English, and as the rum flowed, the sun beat down, and a friendship was kindled. James was instantly enthralled by her life's story, and once stateside, their alliance continued as did their commitment to help each other craft better pieces. It was during one of their discussions that James broached the idea of melding their two books, it was something Aisling was thinking about as well. Age no longer seemed to be a barrier, but language certainly was since Aisling wrote in Spanish and Google translate could only go so far. Patience and stubbornness ruled the day, and after years of collaboration the first two books in the Avanti Voyages are now available in print. Two sequels are in the works with one nearly completed. The fantastical story full of pirates, amazing men and women, rich adventures, and unbound sex await the reader in this thoughtfully assembled series. >Once Aisling was old enough to be on her own, she looked around her Cuban surroundings and saw little hope for a rich and rewarding life. Following in the path of many, she decided to move to Miami. There she quickly discovered that the promise of a better life was not guaranteed, and like many young women who came before her, the green and glitter of the sex industry beckoned. Being of an open mind with a healthy attitude towards sex, Aisling cautiously travelled down this worn path, becoming an exotic dancer. She quickly found that men controlled much of the industry and were eager to manipulate the women for their own gain. Rising above the misogyny and greed, Aisling was able to avoid many of the pitfalls of the profession by staying true to herself and by avoiding the myriad of drugs being pushed on a regular basis. By focusing artistically on her dance moves, Aisling discovered a sense of satisfaction she had not expected. Finding the erotic setting of the club easy to embrace, she schooled herself in its seductive role, learning much about the business of separating men from their money, with grace. Far more demanding than meets the eye, the work often left her exhausted both mentally and physically, at times to a point of despair. Yet not all of the challenges Aisling experienced were unpleasant, indeed, some were excruciatingly delightful. Intermingling with other working women, and engaging patrons of a trustworthy note presented benefits beyond monetary. Playtime with her new friends expanded Aisling's sensual ambitions and presented her with perchance into the world of sexual submission. First dabbling as a dominatrix, she soon came to recognize that her real calling was that of a submissive, and initially that scared her. But as she slowly embraced this new venue, the norms of interaction that existed both formally and informally pleasantly surprised her. Respected practices allowed her to set her own boundaries and suggest desired pleasantries. She also came to appreciate the power of submission and recognize the vulnerabilities of domination; something ever present in her writings. One routine Aisling adhered to throughout her life's journey was that of preserving anecdotes in a journal. Presently, with her dancing profession on hold, putting her life's narratives to paper seemed a worthy goal. Just starting the process of writing her memoirs, and struggling to find her voice, by fortuitous happenstance she met James on a visit back to Cuba. Just another tourist, she first shrugged off his initial approach, but when she observed his thoughtful interaction with her cousin the bartender, she listened carefully and on the following day when she saw him again, she decided to take a risk. The rum, sun, and tropical ocean air helped smooth their conversations along, and soon a lasting bond was made. Sharing different worlds together, the pair incrementally established a thriving rapport and an eternal friendship. To this day, Aisling's contributions to their collaborative pieces mainly focus on the sensual and sexual side of the narrative, while James offers the supporting story line. Unabashedly entwined in the Avanti fantasy, are the many sexual escapades experienced by this author. Her memories captured and put to prose, Aislings honest insights give comfort to a genre often misunderstood.
