The rich history of Metro Detroit's brewing industry from the 1830s to the 1990s. Brewed in Detroit offers a comprehensive history of the brewing industry across the Detroit metropolitan area--including Ann Arbor, Mt. Clemens, Pontiac, Windsor, Wyandotte, and Ypsilanti--from its early beginnings in the 1830s to the resurgence sparked by microbreweries and brewpubs in the 1990s. Author Peter H. Blum, a historian and seasoned veteran of the brewing trade, meticulously chronicles the rise and fall of local breweries, highlighting the individuals and families behind them.
