Autorenporträt

Chris Helme is a local historian and for 30 years he delivered adult education local history classes. Throughout those years he served as a Police Officer and was awarded the British Empire Medal in 1990 for his service in the community. He has written eight local history books (two self-published and six commissioned) since 1986. He wrote a weekly nostalgia column in his local newspaper for over 30 years and has also written a number of articles for UK local and regional magazines. He now writes and produces a quarterly local history /nostalgia magazine 'Brighouse and District Heritage Newseum.'
