In a world where shadows come to life, emerges a young girl with an extraordinary gift - the power of light itself. Kirie has a secret. She possesses the rare ability to manipulate and control light at will. But her strange gift is both a blessing and a curse. With a helicopter mother determined to keep her abilities hidden, Kirie struggles to form attachments with her peers and find her place in the world. Then one night, malevolent beings born from the very absence of light emerge from the darkness and destroy all she holds dear, leaving Kirie to question everything she knew about the world. Hunted and on the run, Kirie is soon discovered by The Society of Light, an ancient organization that recruits and trains Agents of Light to battle against the ever-encroaching darkness. Among these agents is Luca, a mysterious boy with gem-green eyes and a magnetic energy Kirie can't help but be drawn to. As the battle between Agents of Light and Shadowmen escalates, Kirie must make a choice. Follow her own path, or join The Society in its fight against darkness. With time running out and the world teetering on the brink of eternal night, Kirie must face her deepest fears and embrace her destiny as the world's brightest hope.
