The 'Brothers in a Brawl' is a story of a tribe colonized by another tribe in colonial and independent Africa. The struggles of the tribe to gain its sovereignty continued through the 21st century even to the day of writing 'Brothers in a Brawl'. The Bayira, nicknamed as the Bakonzo, are a tribe on and around the snow-capped mount Rwenzori in western Uganda that up to this day appear in none of the constitutions of any sovereign state in the present world, except their nickname. The tribe was discriminated and belittled in all aspects not only by the strangers who immigrated into their land but also by the severe arm of the state. In the quest for independence, their immigrant brothers in government caused the severe arm of government to pitilessly thrash, kill and imprison their leaders. Even those who went into exile were tracked and killed there. However, the Bayira have remained hopeful that someday, independence would be attained.
