The committee concluded the nation must support the primary care workforce through appropriate and supportive payment; hold payers, states, and health systems accountable in ensuring that such payment reaches primary care practices; and sufficiently train an interprofessional workforce. This report offers nine specific recommendations for how federal agencies and other key players can better support the provision of high-quality, interprofessional, team-based primary care.
