Having a Faith that Stands in the Storms of Life My lounge flooded once. I could do very little except move things out of the way and watch as rainwater poured through my ceiling. If the house was built differently, I could have avoided that damage altogether. Not being wise in how you build may mean that storms have more impact and cost more than you want to pay. My spiritual house, my faith, was utterly destroyed by a health battle. It felt like there wasn't a bit of rubble left to hide under. In other words, I didn't know what I believed, therefore I didn't know how to act. I had two options: let the storm beat on me, or by grace, renew my mind, build again, but in the storm. It's much harder to build when the storm is pounding on you, which is why I wrote this book. In this writing, I explore questions that get straight to the core of why we, as Christians, believe what we believe. For example:Who caused the storm? God, or an adversary? What is peace? A feeling that goes, or a fruit that grows? I hope my thoughts on these topics will help prevent unnecessary destruction for others by encouraging them to build their faith well before storms come, and to offer guidance for those rebuilding.
