"An amazing journey into the fire and beyond!" "A story of heartbreak and resilience, with a few bad guys thrown in for good measure." "This may be fiction, but it tells a very 'real' story of disaster and heroism" When a small, paradisaical mountain town is faced with a wildfire of historic proportions, survival is only the beginning. Once the fire is out, the chase to find answers begins. James Augustine woke on that fateful Thursday morning, optimistic about the future. He had found his place in the world; his own personal paradise. Within hours he would face chaos, death, destruction, and be awed by heroism as he joins forces with off-duty firefighter Tristan Byrne in the chase to find answers. A novel, woven with more than twenty real survivor stories from one of the most destructive wildfires in history, that will take you so far into the fire that you will feel the heat and smell the smoke.
