Teklu Lemessa est diplômé de l'université de Hawassa, en Éthiopie, où il a obtenu une licence en sciences de la santé en 2005. En 2010, il a obtenu son MPH dans la spécialité de la gestion des services de santé, à l'université de Jimma, en Éthiopie. Il est actuellement chargé de la planification, du suivi et de l'évaluation (P, M, &E) à l'Association éthiopienne de santé publique (EPHA).
