Tyler obeys all his mother's requests so that she would buy him his most desired toy for his birthday. On the day of his birthday Tyler discovers a young guest in tears because he was the only one at the party who had no toy of his own with which to play. Tyler acts quickly. He stops the younger rabbit from crying by offering him his new toy. Tyler realizes right away that he has just gained pride and satisfaction by having done good to another who had a greater need. The story concludes with every one of the main character having received the best possible outcome. The young reader or listener feels happy, satisfied and content when reaching the end of the story. The full-color original illustrations throughout the book convey all the emotions that are felt by the rabbits in the story, and delight young children as the plot is unfolding. It's a book children treasure and wish to go over many more times. This book in French has also won the distinguished Mom's Choice Award honoring excellence as did the English-language original version, "Tyler's Promised Gift".

M. C. Abushar earned a doctor of Education degree from Pepperdine University at Malibu, California. She served as principal of an elementary parochial school for 19 years, then resigned from this position to work full-time in writing and illustrating stories for children ages three to nine.
