Burton Egbert Stevenson was an American author, anthologist, and librarian, born on November 9, 1872, in Chillicothe, Ohio. He attended Princeton University from 1890 to 1893, where he developed a strong foundation for his future literary career. Stevenson wrote extensively, creating works across various genres, including mystery and detective fiction, often combining his interest in literary themes with his profession as a librarian. His ability to craft compelling stories and anthologies earned him recognition during his lifetime. Apart from his literary pursuits, Stevenson contributed to the field of librarianship, where his expertise was valued. He passed away on May 13, 1962, at the age of 89.
