The book Cameroon Product Liability in Perspective: Lessons from Abroad investigates and analyses the lessons and circumstances leading to the current English Product Liability Scheme with the principal purpose of determining to what extent it can influence and inform legislative reform in Cameroon in this area. Under the present Cameroonian system, liability for defective products is essentially negligence based, although the author has endeavoured to investigate the extent to which contract law may assist a victim of product injury. The book equally provides a thorough rationalisation of strict liability regime and argues that the correct negligence based system in Cameroon is neither justifiable nor sustainable in view of the prevailing socio-economic dynamics.
