A big party to close out summer and welcome the fall semester has turned tragic. A girl is found dead in her dorms on the New Paltz campus. Police consider it an open and shut case, but Detective Ryan has her suspicions. The death toll begins to rise with each crime scene looking like a suicide. Andrew Hess, the King of Cliffhangers, was born of Long Island, New York. His love of writing was discovered while studying psychology at SUNY New Paltz. He grew up an avid reader of fellow mystery and suspense authors such as James Patterson and Edgar Alan Poe. He designed his writing to be a combination of the two authors and added plot twists to his stories. The cliffhangers began with The Phoenix Blade series, a government conspiracy series, which introduced a group of 22-year-old vigilantes hired by the government to eliminate people who were guilty of heinous crimes. Hess continued the trend while venturing into the world of crime fiction penning the Detective Ryan Series and the Detective Thornton Series. Readers have been glued to both book sets demanding the next installment from the author.Hess has a love for multiple genres and has demonstrated this by penning several books in romance, thrillers, and psychological fiction with books such as; Learning to Love, #1 Fan, Finding Strength, The Kritana Contract, Trapped Inside: Living with Agoraphobia, and submissions in the Detours in our Destinations Anthology. He has also written two books of free-verse poetry with Chamber of Souls, and Hall of the Forgotten (an ode to Poe's Cask of Amontillado).Hess won Indie Author Books Best Mystery Thriller Author (2015), and Indie Author Book Series of the year (2014) for The Phoenix Blade Series.Hess was also nominated for Best Male Author, Best Mystery Suspense Author, Book of the Year, and Best Mystery Book (2015) for Campus Killer by Wickedly Devine Divas, The Three Bookateers, and SNSBAH Promotions. He received several nominations in 2016 from Summer Indie Awards for Contemporary (#1 Fan), Crime (Conviction; Deadly Games), Mystery (Campus Killer; Scorned; and Conviction), Romance (#1 Fan) and Anthology (Detours in our Destinations). With more than twenty books to his name, Hess is not done yet. He moved to Georgia with his wife and son to spend more time with them. The area has filled him with more inspiration to branch into other genres including horror, psychological thrillers, children's books, and mid-grade books. With so much already accomplished and much more to come, keep your eyes on this author as he takes you on a literary journey you will never forget.
