Then a budding young artist, Verne Andru flew to New York and knocked on doors at Marvel, DC and Neil Adams Continuity Studios summarizing the experience in a feature article first appearing in 1978 titled So you want to be a comic artist? preserved here for posterity.

An award-winning designer, Verne is best known for his illustration, animation and directing work with some of the best including Captain Canuck, Universal, Ikea and Nelvana's animated cult-classic "Rock & Rule." In addition to teaching at the prestigious Vancouver Film School, he created the "Simply Accounting" name, designed Pigtronix's flagship musical effects pedal and launched both into successful brands.
