Zoey's used to being alone, struggling to keep the family home and make ends meet. She's never had a real role in her mother's wealthy family. Yet when her great aunt, A.I. pioneer Katherine Cardinal, passes away, Zoey is shipped a stunning prototype Cardinal Machine. An android called 1-Ocean. Her P.I. instincts see a way to make easy money using 1-Ocean to catch bail jumpers. But her biggest job goes sideways when her target is found dead. The Sheriff's department rules it an accident, but her Ocean unit calls it murder. Problem is, crime is like an itch she's got to scratch. But is she really going to trust a machine's judgement? And if it's... if he's right, can she handle the consequences of uncovering the truth? Solving her first murder will be a ride she won't forget. If she survives it. If you loved the intense, thought-provoking world-building of Detroit: Become Human or the smart and sassy detective work of Veronica Mars, the Cardinal Machines series is right for you!
My name, Tracy, means warrior in Irish, and that's apt. I come from a much-storied island off the coast of Eastern Canada, where kids weren't handled with kid-gloves. We had the run of the place -- icebergs and all! The land, the storms, and the beliefs shaped me into a storyteller. But I'm also an avid collector of things, like dolls, books, and... ghost hunting tips. I have a background in literature and psychology, with an entirely unhealthy dollop of technology (that's run a decade now and includes Clouds of all kinds)! I paint too much and think about trivia and oddities about the same, but it all comes out on the page! I've been writing professionally for about 7 years now. You'll like my work if you're interested in near-future science fiction, ghost-stories, or kick-@$$ heroes and heroines. And if you're Street Team Strong? Let me know on my site's Contact Page! Thanks and happy reading!
