Mary de Chesnay, PhD, RN, PMH-BC, FAAN, is a Professor Emerita at Kennesaw State University and former secretary of the Council on Nursing and Anthropology (CONAA) of the Society for Applied Anthropology (SFAA). Her clinical practice and research programs involve mostly women and children who have been abused or trafficked. She has conducted ethnographic fieldwork and participatory action research in Latin America and the Caribbean. She has taught a course in vulnerable populations and qualitative research at all levels in the United States and abroad in the roles of faculty, head of a department of research, dean, and endowed chair.
