The objective of the study was to analyze the contribution of Caritas Kasanaensis' development programmes in Luweero Sub-County, Luweero district since the end of the 1980-86 civil war. The intent of this study was to contribute to the existing body of knowledge so far undertaken by the different development practioners towards community development however, with a particular focus on Caritas Kasanaensis in Kasana-Luweero diocese. The lives of the people that are characterized by poverty, ignorance and disease are so touching as was clearly articulated in the study. The study revealed that at the start of Caritas Kasanaensis' development programmes, little impact from both government and NGOs had been registered to the population which had suffered severely from the ruins of war. The limited budgets and the enormous social-economic problems in the area partly caused this limited impact. The other factor being that development programmes had no sustainability after their initial funding periods, attracting Caritas Kasanaensis to come on board to work hand in hand in the development process of the shattered population which had earlier suffered from the ruins of the 1980-86 civil war.
