In this book, carvedilol-beta-cyclodextrin loaded liposomal gel was developed for efficient incorporation and persistent release of carvedilol. A 3-factors, 2-level Box-Behnken design was used to optimize the process parameters including Cholesterol (A), Poloxamer 188 (B) and Span 40 (C). Six dependent variables refractive index, globule size, viscosity, CDR at 12 hours, gel strength and spreadability were measured as responses. Mathematical equations and response surface plots were to relate the dependent and independent variables using Design-Expert software (DX11).
