In Gujarat, during last few years the area under castor crop is increasing in south Gujarat. The existing cropping pattern of paddy-sugarcane of south Gujarat is need to be changed as both crop requires higher water requirement. Thus, the scientific information regarding level and source of nitrogen for high yielding hy. GCH-7 is lacking. A few scientific information is available for castor grown under south Gujarat condition and hence, this experiment entitled "Response of rabi castor (Ricinus communis L.) hy.GCH-7 to rate and sources of nitrogen with and without biofertilizer under south Gujarat condition " has been planned with following objectives: 1. To find out the nitrogen requirement for castor Hy. GCH-7 under south Gujarat condition. 2. To find out the sources of nitrogen for castor under south Gujarat condition. 3. To study the uptake of NPK by castor Hy. GCH-7.4. To study the economics of the different treatments.
