Marie Kelsey, Ph.D., professor emerita, College of St. Scholastica, Duluth, Minnesota, recently completed a forty-year career in librarianship, twenty-seven of which were devoted to cataloging and technical services in academic libraries. She is also a licensed K-12 librarian and retired director of the Educational Media and Technology program at St. Scholastica. Dr. Kelsey earned her master's degree in English at Bemidji State University and her master's and Ph.D. degrees in Library Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She has authored several articles on cataloging and other aspects of school librarianship. In 2006, her book Ulysses S. Grant, A Bibliography (Praeger, 2005) was named one of the five best bibliographies of the year in history by the Reference & User Services Association (ALA) History Section's Bibliography and Indexes Committee.
