Raised in Lisbon, Portugal, Mónica Fernandes has been writing since age nine, crafting poetry, prose, fiction, and non-fiction. She holds a master's degree in marketing communications from Emerson College. Mónica founded the Nomad Writers Group in 2004 and has contributed to its anthology. She is also a member of the Florida Writers Association's Treasure Coast Writers Group.Mónica has won multiple poetry awards, has been featured at the Massachusetts Poetry Festival, and is the author of "Freefall: Poems, Essays and Stories." She splits her work as a marketing consultant and life transition coach, empowering women post-divorce. A passionate animal advocate and cat mom, she is on the board of directors of the local Humane Society. Monica resides on Florida's Treasure Coast, where she indulges in chocolate and enjoys cooking savory dishes for her loved ones.
