Reflections on regional dynamics, especially those of small towns, have gained relevance due to the demands placed on Geography as a Human and Social Science, which finds its object of analysis in geographical space. Against this backdrop of profound regional transformations, we find the municipalities of Cáceres and Glória D'oeste in the context of the Cáceres-MT Planning Region, whose main economic sectors are livestock farming and small-scale agriculture. The discussions presented are the result of research focusing on the participation of these municipalities in the regional dynamics of Planning Region VII and the state of Mato Grosso. It is hoped that these reflections will support future research in the Cáceres-MT Planning Region, in order to contribute to the region and to geographical science in general.
