Population aging is a global reality. Older adults, in particular, are aging and creating a new group, the "older elderly," or centenarians. With them come increased social demands for health care and infrastructure to support and ensure quality of life for older adults. The elderly are part of a much more fragile population that needs greater investment in care. The motivational objective of this study was to understand the meaning of old age and self-perception of health from the perspective of a group of centenarians, in addition to investigating their functional and cognitive conditions. Nine centenarians residing in the municipality of Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul, aged between 100 and 104, participated in this research. This book provides compelling information about the perspective of centenarian life through the voices of those who have reached the age of 100. It also contributes to those interested in the study of the oldest elderly, the centenarians.
