With the resources of today, three dimensional Navier-Stokes equations can be simulated with the help of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Two different complex supersonic flows are selected to apply CFD. The first case is "Supersonic Flow over an Open Rectangular Cavity" which has numerous applications related to the bomb bays of fighter aircraft. The next case is "The Computational Design of Boeing/AFOSR Mach 6 Wind Tunnel at Purdue University". The tunnel was designed as a quiet tunnel for which the noise levelis an order of magnitude lower than that in conventional windtunnels. However, quiet flow was achieved in the tunnel for only low Reynolds numbers and the reason was investigated from 2001 to 2006. A new bleed lip geometry for the nozzle of the tunnel wasdesigned using CFD and implemented in the tunnel in 2006, resulting in quiet hypersonic flow. The book should help shed some light on CFD applied to high speed flows and should be useful to professionals in Aerospace Engineering or anyone who is curious about the capabilities of CFD.
