This study presents the potential of the Business Environment Simulation Model (SAE) used in the teaching and learning process at the Porto Higher Institute of Accounting and Administration (IPP/ISCAP), in the Business Simulation Project course units, in the final year of the third cycle of the Accounting and Administration Course. It analyzes the extent to which the introduction of innovative technology-based procedures contributes to academic success. It uses the following methodologies and techniques for data collection and interpretation: case study, questionnaire survey and interviews, data triangulation, and content analysis, opting for factorial statistics in the data analysis. The results obtained highlight fundamental issues, namely: the disparity between the tools used in traditional teaching and those used in the SAE Model; the way in which the assessment method is structured, with great emphasis on the student and promoting self-regulation through feedback; and individual and group work as the main factors in the development of technical and behavioral skills.
