The study was carried in Masvingo urban District and surrounding areas. Diagnosis and therapy were used as units of analysis because they point to spiritual conceptions and ritual practices of the Karanga. The study established that there is an increase in traditional beliefs and practices although these have taken a more hidden form .

Timothy Kaela is a Religious and Moral Education at the Great Zimbabwe University in the development of Teacher Development. He holds a Masters degree in Religious Studies (UZ) and a graduate certificate in education (UZ). He also has a long experience as a lecturer in teachers colleges.
