Dairy farming is a widespread activity in Minas Gerais and an important economic factor for the state, often being the main source of income for owners in municipalities such as São Geraldo da Piedade - MG. The aim of this study was to ascertain how dairy farmers view the environmental impacts caused by livestock farming in the Córrego do Capoeirão, São Geraldo da Piedade - MG. Bibliographical research was carried out on the subject, visits were made to the site, and questionnaires were administered to 15 dairy cattle owners in the study region. It was found that the main impacts caused by livestock farming in the region are erosion, terracing and the incorrect disposal of solid waste resulting from bovine feces and urine. It was concluded that schooling directly influences the environmental perception of the owners and that the size of the property does not interfere with this knowledge.
