Autorenporträt
Les Carroll grew up in South Carolina. He served in the Air Force and Air National Guard for twenty-eight years, retiring in 2013. He served two tours in Afghanistan and four months at the Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations Center at Dover Air Force Base. His 2023 novel, This Troubled Ground, was based on those experiences. He is an award-winning military and civilian journalist and acclaimed documentary filmmaker. His documentary Bringing the Fallen Home, also inspired by his service at Dover Air Force Base, aired nationally on public television in 2014.
