Autorenporträt

Selma Lagerlöf (1858-1940) war eine schwedische Schriftstellerin. Sie ist eine der bekanntesten Schriftstellerinnen des Landes und gehört zu den schwedischen Autoren, deren Werke zur Weltliteratur zählen. 1909 erhielt sie als erste Frau den Nobelpreis für Literatur. Sie verfasste religiöse, fantasievolle und heimatverbundene Werke sowie Kinderbücher. Neben Romanen schrieb sie ihr ganzes Leben auch Kurzgeschichten, Erzählungen und Legenden. Ein sehr bekanntes Werk Lagerlöfs ist Die wunderbare Reise des kleinen Nils Holgersson mit den Wildgänsen, das sie 1906 schrieb.
