Adrian Hadland worked as a political editor and parliamentary correspondent in South Africa for more than ten years covering the extraordinary period between the end of the last white, apartheid "tricameral" government in the early 1990s and the country's third democratic election in 2004. Hailed by the Foreign Correspondents' Association in South Africa for his "outstanding" reportage, Adrian has published more than 20 books including a biography of Nelson Mandela, an unauthorized biography of Thabo Mbeki, the memoirs of Kader Asmal and various academic and policy-oriented works. He is currently Chair of Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Stirling in the UK.
