Autorenporträt
Sir Christopher Le Brun (b. 1951, UK) is one of the leading British painters of his generation, making both figurative and abstract work in painting, sculpture, and print. He was an instrumental public figure in his role as president of the Royal Academy of Arts in London from 2011 to 2019. Since 1990 he has served as a trustee of major British institutions and was awarded a Knighthood (Knight Bachelor) for services to the arts in the 2021 New Year Honours. Matthew Holman is Lecturer in Literature and Fine Art at The University of Hertfordshire. Holman received his PhD from University College London in 2020, and has held research or postdoctoral fellowships at The Courtauld Institute of Art, the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art, Yale University, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies in Berlin. His first book, Frank O'Hara and MoMA: New York Poet, Global Curator, is published by Bloomsbury.
