Sie hat einen Abschluss in Chemie von der Bundesuniversität von Rio de Janeiro, einen Master in analytischer und anorganischer Chemie und einen Doktortitel in Naturwissenschaften von der Päpstlichen Katholischen Universität von Rio de Janeiro. Derzeit ist sie Forscherin und Dozentin an der Technischen Hochschule UFRRJ. Sie hat Erfahrung in allgemeiner Chemie und Umweltchemie und arbeitet hauptsächlich in der technischen und technologischen Ausbildung.
