Citizenship "[...] is no longer something that happens, but something that is made to happen" (Forum on Education for Citizenship, 2008, p. 15). Understanding the role of education in (re)constructing the active dimension of citizenship is a challenge that this work has embraced, attempting to develop an integrated and reflective educational process that would lead teachers to rethink their role as citizens and educators of citizenship, in order to make it a full and effective experience in the school context. It is now up to the reader to unravel the paths explored and find the way to "active citizenship."
