Little Claire loves her garden, a place of peace and joy where she feels safe among the roses, pansies, and her very favorite daisies. But when a friendly daisy says hello, Claire's quiet world is turned upside down in the most magical way. Claire and Daisy become the best of friends, sharing secrets and talking about everything from busy bees to quiet caterpillars. But when Claire feels wobbly about her upcoming school play, it is Daisy who offers the kind, brave words that help her find her courage and shine on stage. Their happiness, however, cannot last forever. When Daisy's petals begin to fade, Claire must face a new fear: the sadness of losing a friend. Through a heartfelt goodbye, Daisy teaches Claire a final, powerful lesson about overcoming loss and finding strength inside herself. This beautiful picture book, with its stunning, detailed illustrations, is a warm and comforting story about a child's first big step toward independence. It is perfect for children who are learning to be brave and for families looking for a gentle way to talk about friendship, courage, and finding that a little bit of magic can bloom anywhere.
Matt Charvat is a debut children's book author who believes in the power of imagination and the wonder found in everyday moments. As a devoted husband and father, Matt is inspired by the joy and curiosity of his own family, often finding story ideas during their outdoor adventures together. He hopes his stories will spark a love of reading in young hearts and encourage them to see the magic all around them. Izabela Ciesinska is a Polish-Canadian author-illustrator whose vibrant storytelling draws from her childhood love of European fairy tales and animation. Emigrating from Poland to Canada at age seven, she discovered a world of animated films that shaped her whimsical art style. She illustrated for clients like Oxford University Press, Concordia Publishing House, United Methodist Publishing House, and Pentecostal Publishing House, including the picture book Prayer: Learning How to Talk to God (Concordia). In Spring 2024, Izabela debuted as an author-illustrator with The Little Donkey and God's Big Plan (Ascension Press). In her spare time, she enjoys reading good books, discovering great cinema, taking (very) long walks, and watching adorable animal videos.
