The Chalk-cliff Tortrix or Conch (Cochylidia rupicola) is a moth of the Tortricidae family. It is found in most of Europe and the Near East.The wingspan is about 13 mm. Adults are on wing from June to July. They typically fly from dusk onwards. The larvae feed on the flowers and seeds of Eupatorium cannabinum during August to October. After this feeding period, the larva builds a cocoon near the foodplant in which it overwinters.
