The preparation of this book represents the convergence of different experiences accumulated throughout my journey as a pastor, educational manager, university lecturer and researcher committed to improving higher education in Mozambique.The topic addressed here - cognitive strategies that facilitate metacognition in the teaching and learning process - arises from the urgent need to rethink the pedagogical methods applied in our higher education institutions, particularly in the face of the concrete challenges faced by students who arrive at university without full mastery of the skills of self-regulation of learning.
