His work critically examines the ecological policies of socialist states, challenging dominant narratives that equate communism with environmental degradation. Drawing on dialectical materialism, Suing engages with historical case studies-particularly from the Soviet Union and Cuba-to explore how socialist planning offers viable alternatives to capitalist ecological destruction.He is the author of L'écologie réelle: Une histoire soviétique et cubaine (Éditions Delga, 2018), now available in English as Communism, The Highest Stage of Ecology (Iskra Books, 2025). His research contributes to contemporary debates on ecosocialism, agroecology, and the political economy of sustainability.
