Sie hat einen Doktortitel in Gemeindekrankenpflege und zahlreiche Publikationen in renommierten internationalen Fachzeitschriften veröffentlicht. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind öffentliche Gesundheit, Krankenpflegeausbildung und digitale Gesundheitsinterventionen. Dr. Shaban ist außerdem Autorin mehrerer Bücher.
