The theme proposed in this book is based on the assumption that musical diversity in Brazil is subject to the power of the media, which, driven by its own interests, plays a role in hegemony and massification by arbitrarily disseminating and promoting a particular song or artist, to the detriment of the diversity underlying the country's music production chain, thus reducing Brazilian culture. Through interviews with professionals working in the cultural and media market, combined with other qualitative, bibliographic and news sources, it was possible to obtain a more dense, objective and diversified reflection on the theme. However, it is still necessary to strengthen democratic thinking in order to foster functional strategies that transform all this cultural and artistic potential, predominant in Brazilian musical diversity, into action. At the end of the study, however, it was found that musicians, producers, entrepreneurs and institutions are attentive to the new demands andrequirements of the cultural music market, which are driven by technological advances and globalisation processes.
