This report evaluates the performance of underground ventilation systems at the TÜMAD Mining Lapseki Operation and examines their behavior under various operational and emergency scenarios. Underground ventilation is a critical component in mining operations, ensuring worker safety, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability. The study utilizes Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methods to analyze the current state of the ventilation system and identify potential areas for improvement. The analyses conducted within the report address various risk factors, including different thermodynamic conditions, explosion scenarios, and fire emergencies. Simulations assessed performance metrics such as pressure distributions, air velocity, and gas evacuation times, highlighting both the strengths of the system and critical areas requiring enhancement. Particularly, the findings regarding smoke and gas evacuation during fire and explosion scenarios provide essential insights for improving safety measures.
