Stephen R. Forrest is the Peter A. Franken Distinguished University Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan. He has received a number of awards including the Thomas Alva Edison Award for innovations in organic LEDs, the MRS Medal, the IEEE/LEOS William Streifer Scientific Achievement Award, the IEEE Daniel Nobel Award, and the IEEE Jun-Ichi Nishizawa Medal, and the IEEE William R. Cherry Award. He is a member of the US National Academies of Engineering and Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Science, and the National Academy of Inventors. He participated in the founding of Sensors Unlimited, NanoFlex Power Corp., Universal Display Corp., Heat2Power, Inc., and Apogee Photonics, Inc.
