The study is intended as the first working document for the series "Contributions to Cultural - Religious Competence". An introduction to religious identity formation requires basic religious knowledge as a learning process. Situationally determined, the effort can be justified by the diaspora situation with religious educational disadvantage.Knowledge of the learning theory of "connectivism" with self-organization, discovery-based learning with self-experience and in the educational management of self-directed learning and the author's experience from two distance learning courses at the Comenius Institute in Münster, knowledge and experience in teaching adult education and further education determine the subject matter.
