The study determines the correlation between width of maxillary central incisors and width of philtrum in sexes and establishes the morphometric criterion for the North Indian population. These are invaluable as they express a mean which cannot be deviated from to more than a limited extent without transgressing the laws of nature and producing deformity It is envisaged that the results will contribute towards the selection of mesiodistal dimension of artificial anterior teeth and esthetic restoration of philtral anatomy so as to achieve better philtral definition and lip animation. The existence of partial positive correlation between the width of maxillary central incisors and width of Philtrum has been established in this study. As such when these two parameters are in harmonious coordination, It is bound to have a positive impact on esthetic appearance. This physical attractiveness is known to have an immense impact on self esteem and other measures of psychic well being as beauty is definitely not skin deep.
