Joe Fitzgerald has dedicated over 25 years to the field of traffic safety, rising through the ranks of the Wilmington Police Department to become a Sergeant in 2010. As a traffic crash reconstructionist, he investigated serious injury and fatal crashes, providing critical insights that often led to expert testimony in various areas including vehicle speed determination, drug and alcohol impaired driving, and standardized field sobriety testing. For over a decade, Joe has run the Southeastern Driver Training Center and has developed a defensive driving curriculum that has spread throughout the country. Joe currently serves as President of the National Crash Prevention Program.
