R. Shamms Mortier, Ph.D. is president of Eyeful Tower Communications, a video graphics design and animation house. He is a professional animator whose art has been featured in galleries, on television, and in other venues. His work has been funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Vermont Council on the Arts, and the Boston Film/Video Society. Mortier authors a biweekly column on computer graphics and animation in TV Technology and teaches college classes in these areas. Books to his credit include Mastering Pixels: 3-D, Bryce 4, Ray Dream 5 F/X, the Bryce 3D and Poser Handbooks, After Effects 4 in Detail, Freehand 7 Graphics Studio, Dream 5 F/X, and numerous reviews of graphics and animation.
