This university dissertation takes a critical look at the management of the Jardin Zoologique de Kinshasa, starting with the alarming observation that it is in a state of general disrepair. The study explores the root causes of this situation, analyzing in depth the dysfunctions affecting the entire structure and its operations.The research work highlights deficient management at several levels, ranging from the lack of adequate financial resources and their effective allocation, to the absence of long-term strategic planning. The critical study examines the role and responsibility of the various stakeholders, from public authorities, zoo management and staff to potential partners and civil society. It analyzes the implications of this mismanagement, not only for the health and well-being of the animals, but also for the zoo's educational, scientific and tourism potential.
