Karen E. Mueller, DVM was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, where misty forests first sparked her lifelong fascination with the mysterious. A veterinarian, educator, and author, Dr. Mueller has dedicated her professional career to improving the lives of animals while also exploring and protecting the natural world.As an educator, she shares her knowledge through writing and creating online content designed to inspire curiosity and critical thinking. Her books and articles blend science with storytelling, helping readers discover how cultural traditions, science and the natural world, and enduring mysteries intersect to spark the imagination.In her veterinary career, Dr. Mueller is passionate about two causes: reducing pain in pets and preventing euthanasia due to overpopulation. She has worked extensively in high-quality, high-volume, low-cost spay and neuter programs across the Northwest, and continues to serve both animals and their families through these efforts as well as her practice at Mueller Animal Chiropractic.
