With over 20 years of dedicated experience in the field of education, Rita Bateson is a distinguished consultant specialising in bespoke educational solutions tailored to the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework. Rita's extensive background includes roles as a book author, curriculum developer, teacher and educational leader across various prestigious institutions and organisations. Rita has a rich professional history, teaching mathematics and physics at the highest level in the UK, Switzerland, Bermuda and Germany, working as head of departments while simultaneously an IB Examiner in Mathematics. Rita's expertise was further honed during her tenure as the Senior Curriculum Manager for Mathematics and Sciences at the International Baccalaureate in their Global Headquarters in The Hague, where she oversaw global support. Rita authored the official MYP Mathematics textbooks, 'MYP: By Concept' for the IB with Hodder Education and his just completed two further IB Curriculum pedagogy books for Hachette Learning Publications (formerly John Catt). As the Founding Head of Secondary at Nord Anglia International School Dublin, Rita successfully led the school through rapid expansion and achieved IB authorisation for both the Middle Years and Diploma Programme, earning high commendations and bringing IB Continuum to Ireland for the first time. Rita continues to contribute to curriculum development for the International Baccalaureate while supporting schools through consultancy.
