Glyn Gowans was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and read Law at Durham University. He joined a major UK law firm, qualified as a solicitor, and specialized in intellectual property. After nineteen years with the firm, he took early retirement to write, moving to Bordeaux, which inspired Cut From The Same Cloth. Two years later, a finca in the Mallorcan countryside became his home, where he completed Gloria! Gloria! (published March 2025), a story of Anglo-American industrial espionage and kidnapping which culminates dramatically on another of the Balearic Islands, heavenly Formentera. Glyn's eleven years in Mallorca generated the satire Infernal Paradise (published July 2025), which tackles the mounting frictions between the Mallorcans and the thousands of Europeans 'colonising' their island. Violence finally erupts, provoking an international crisis. After undertaking extensive research, Glyn has also written a biography of Prince George, Duke of Kent, who died in an air crash in 1942 while serving in the RAF.
