This book provides information on the characteristics of the waste generated, the impact of its indiscriminate disposal in water bodies, and also assesses the concentration of cyanide in the air of flour mills located in the Alagoas countryside. Questionnaires were used to investigate the knowledge of workers and the exposed community regarding the risks caused by exposure to cyanogenic waste.

Wander Botero - Bachelor in Chemie (2005), Master (2007) und Doktor (2010) in Chemie am Institut für Chemie der Staatlichen Universität São Paulo "Julio de Mesquita Filho" (UNESP). Postdoktorat an der Universität Algarve, Portugal (2014). Derzeit ist er außerordentlicher Professor an der Bundesuniversität Alagoas - Campus Arapiraca.
